Awww yeah, here's a blast from the past. The Allsop Softride (Sofride?) seatpost was one of the first bicycle suspension systems: a big carbon fiber arm with enough flex to insulate the rider from the bigger bumps. They haven't made these for a while; I'd guess that this bike is about 15 years old. (Heh, even if you didn't know about the seatpost, the paint job gives it away.) That's a pretty big piece of carbon fiber - the seatpost is probably worth more than the rest of the bike.
